Ammonium sulfate

(Crystal)

Other Names:
Diammonium sulfate. Ammonium hydrogen sulfate.
IUPAC Name:
Diammonium sulfate

General Introduction of Ammonium Sulfate:

Ammonium sulfate is a branch of sulfate acidic salts which is shown by (NH4)2SO4 or H8N2O4S formula and is produced by chemical processing.
It is a water-soluble salt and it is generally in the form of powder or white crystal with no odor and only in the result of high heat due to decomposition it releases an ammonia smell.

– Usage:

  • Usage in Agriculture and reason of superiority over other kinds of azote-sulfur fertilizers:
Crystal ammonium sulfate is mainly used in agriculture and in the form of fertilizer, the reason of which can be summarized in the following factors:

    • Containing sulfate and ammonium which reduces soil PH and therefore it causes better growth in plants and it strengthens them. The following herbs are generally the target of this fertilizer: saffron, pistachio, corn, herbs with oily seeds such as rape, sunflower, soybean with the aim of providing food such as potato, rice and wheat and eventually plants scion with high need for azote like lucerne.
    • Ease of use comparing to other sulfur fertilizers such as urea and granule sulfur which by high water consumption and in long period of time only a small part of it absorbs by the plant.
    • Due to very high consumption heat, it prevents wasting azote resulted of ambient heat.
    • Controlling the plant culture bed PH and balancing its effects on strengthening plants in different kinds of cultivations with check-basin irrigation or flood irrigation or drip irrigation and even in soilless cultures.
    • Possible to use in different kind of fertilization methods such as drill hole fertilization, dissolution in water and broadcast.
    • Controlling soil pests.
  • Ammonium sulfate is used as ingredients in producing some other sulfate salts and chloramines.
  • Ammonium sulfate is used in laboratories for some measurements.
  • Ammonium sulfate is used for regulating acidity in flour and bread.
  • In purifying drinking water
  • In glasswork and detergents industries
  • In dyeing industry as an auxiliary substance of acidic colors

– Maintenance:

Keep in dry and cool place, out of interaction with other chemical materials such as acids and corrosive substances.
Consume up to two years after production.

– Instruction for Use:

Very important: generally, plants need different amount of ammonium sulfate fertilizer considering the amount of demand azote and soil acidity, therefore ask relevant specialists about the amount and frequency of use before using, and what that is written on the package is only the minimum amount of use and according to average consumption considering the optimal plants growth report, is collected and provided to you.
It should be used several times during the year to fully show the effect of fertilizer on better strengthening and growth.

Warnings:

  • Avoid taking the material orally, in the case of swallow seek medical advice as soon as possible.
  • In the case of contact with eyes rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice as soon as possible.
  • Do not heat.
  • Avoid mixing with acidic or corrosive chemical materials.
  • Prevent water or steam from reaching the product.
