General Introduction of Calcium Carbonate:
Calcium carbonate is one of the most widely used materials in the earth’s crust which its pure powder is white and in the case of impurity can have various colors.
Naturally, it is mined and used from mines for industrial and construction purposes and for cosmetic and health and animal feed purposes which require high purity calcium carbonate and no heavy metals, calcium carbonate product which is produced by some chemical reactions such as passing carbon dioxide through calcium hydroxide solution, can be used.

– Usage:
- In Construction Industries:The most usage of calcium carbonate in construction industries is in producing lime (which operates as a surface cover) and concrete (which operates as an integrator). Also, a large part of rocks and construction materials are made of calcium carbonate or its compounds. In this industry, the required calcium carbonate is obtained directly from mineral processing.
- In Livestock and Poultry Feed Industries: Calcium carbonate with high purity is used as a regulator of digestive system and stomach acidity and the basic of livestock and poultry feed compound, due to absence of impurities and heavy metals and ease of use compared to some higher cost chemical compounds.
- In Cosmetic Industries: Calcium carbonate operates as a bleach and basic base in cosmetic powders.
- In Health Industries: Calcium carbonate is a strong anti-acid whose other salts are used in anti-allergies, ion deficiently therapy solutions and cardiac arrhythmia treatment.
– Maintenance:
Keep in dry and cool place, out of interaction with other chemical materials such as acids and corrosive substances due to producing high amount of carbon dioxide gas.
Consume up to one year after production.
Do not expose to sunlight and direct heat.
Warnings:
- Avoid eating raw material and non-medicinal.
- In the case of contact with eyes rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice as soon as possible. (its dust causes temporary damage to eyes).
- Do not heat.
- Avoid mixing with acidic or corrosive chemical materials due to producing carbon dioxide gas.
- Prevent water and steam from reaching the product.
