Potassium sulfate

(Crystal)

  Solo potash

(pure potassium sulfate)

Other Names:
Arcanite. Sulfate of potash. Solo potash. Potash of sulfur
IUPAC Name:
Dipotassium sulfate

General Introduction of Potassium Sulfate:

Potassium sulfate is a branch of sulfate salts which is shown by K2SO4 formula and is produced by mineral processing and by various chemical methods, and its mineral form needs purification and recrystallizing due to high impurity comparing to chemical sample and containing high amounts of other salts.
It is one of the most important concentrated fertilizers for plants which is suitable for nourishing plants with no tolerance for chlorine such as potato, tobacco and etc. and it is suitable for both stages of preparing the soil before cultivation and for the vegetation in plant growth stage. It is a valuable source of chlorine free and absorbable potassium comparing to other fertilizers containing potassium.
It is a water-soluble salt and it is usually in the form of powder or white crystal with no smell and only in the result of high heat its physical form changes and it may decompose.

– Usage:

The most usage of manganese sulfate is as a fertilizer. K2SO4 has no chlorine (which can be harmful for some products). In this case, the first alternative for chloride potassium is potassium sulfate, which these plants include tobacco and some fruits and vegetables. Products with less sensitivity may need potassium sulfate for growth improvement in the case of eliminating chloride form irrigation water, in order to reducing the amount of chlorine ion accumulated in them.
Potassium sulfate raw salt sometimes is used in producing glass.
Potassium sulfate is used as a part of the artillery’s propellant ammunitions. It reduces snout arrows, sagging and excessive pressure of the explosion.
Sometimes this material is used as an alternative explosive material similar to soda in blast soda, because it is harder and is similarly water-soluble.
Potassium sulfate can be used in producing chemical materials in combination with potassium nitrate for producing purple flame.

– Instruction for Use:

Very important: generally, plants need different amount of potassium sulfate fertilizer considering the amount of demand materials and soil acidity, therefore ask relevant specialists about the amount and frequency of use before using, and what that is written on the package is only the minimum amount of use and according to average consumption considering the optimal plants growth report, is collected and provided to you

– Maintenance:

Keep in dry and cool place, out of interaction with other chemical materials such as acids and corrosive substances.
Consume up to two years after production.
Do not expose to sunlight and direct heat.

Warnings:

  • Avoid taking the material orally, in the case of swallow seek medical advice as soon as possible.
  • In the case of contact with eyes rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice as soon as possible. (its dust causes temporary damage to eyes)
  • Do not heat.
  • Avoid mixing with acidic or corrosive chemical materials.
  • Prevent water or steam from reaching the product.
